SACRED PAUSES — MAKING TIME FOR GOD
Finding Peace in Everyday Moments With God
In the busyness of everyday life, it can be easy to move from one responsibility to the next without stopping long enough to breathe, reflect, or simply be still.
A sacred pause is an intentional moment to step away from the noise and make room for God.
It does not have to be long. It does not have to be perfect. It may be a quiet moment in the morning, a whispered prayer in the middle of a busy day, a few minutes with Scripture, or simply sitting in stillness and remembering that God is present.
Sacred pauses remind us that peace is not always found when everything around us becomes quiet. Sometimes, peace is found when we become quiet enough to notice God in the middle of it all.
🌿 A Simple Sacred Pause Practice
1. STOP.
Pause whatever you are doing. Give yourself permission to be still for a moment.
2. BREATHE.
Take three slow, intentional breaths. As you breathe in, think:
“God, You are here.”
As you breathe out, think:
“I release what I cannot control.”
3. NOTICE.
Ask yourself:
What am I carrying right now?
What do I need to surrender to God?
Where might God be inviting me to slow down?
4. PRAY.
Offer God a simple prayer:
“God, meet me in this moment. Quiet my heart, renew my strength, and help me trust You with what I cannot carry alone. Amen.”
5. REST.
Sit quietly for another minute. You don't have to solve anything. Simply be present with God.
A sacred pause can take one minute or ten minutes. What matters is not the length of the pause, but the intention to make room for God.
Today, give yourself permission to stop.
Pause. Breathe. Pray. Listen. Be present.
✨ Your pause can become a place where peace meets you.
